   Acupuncture

Specialties: Pulse Diagnosis, Anti-Aging Cosmetic Acupuncture, Auto and Sports Injuries, Women's Issues, Chronic Pain, and Allergies. Traditional Chinese Internal Medicine is the basis of all specialties of Chinese medicine. Treatment in Traditional Chinese medicine is centered on the person rather than the disease. Signs and symptoms are pieced together and synthesized until a picture of the whole person appears. This piecing together is the very heart of the Chinese diagnostic process.

   QiGong

QiGong is a healing art which has been demonstrated to improve many chronic conditions. It can help keep us young and healthy. In China, there are what are called "QiGong hospitals" where only QiGong is practiced on patients and hundreds of articles have been published in Chinese literature about the hundreds of medical applications for this ancient healing art. Dr. Lucas trained with Master/Dr. Zhengao Yao who has been treating patients in the U.S. since 1993.

   Herbal Prescriptions
The art of prescribing formulas comprised of medicinal substances the particular configuration of which is dictated by the organizing principles of the treatment strategy. Chinese medicinal formulas are complex recipes of interrelated substances each of which affects the actions of the others in the formula. Prescriptions come in the form of raw herbs which the patient cooks, powders, and pills.
   Moxibustion
Treats and prevents diseases by applying heat to points or certain locations of the human body. The material used is Artemisia Vulgaris in cone or stick form.  Moxibustion meridians, regulates Qi and Blood, expels Cold/Da mp, warms the uterus, stops bleeding, improves digestion, regulates menstruation, strengthens Yang, and is great for prevention!  It is said that "a disease that may not be treated with acupuncture can be treated with moxibustion.  When a disease fails to respond to medication and acupuncture - moxibustion is suggested."
   Auricular Acupuncture
Auricular Acupuncture therapy treats and prevents diseases by stimulating certain points on the ear with needles or ear seeds.  Auricular (ear) Acupuncture is especially effective for weight loss, smoking cessation, anxiety reduction, and other addictive behavior reduction.
   Cupping
Is a therapy in which a jar is attached to the skin surface by creating a partial vacuum.  This therapy is used to warm and promote the free flow of Qi and blood in the meridians (channels), to treat asthma and coughing, to reduce swelling, to reduce pain, to promote the flow of Qi and Blood, to treat gastrointestinal disorders, and to treat spasms.  A practitioner may use a single cup, multiple cups, moving cups, put herbal medicine underneath the cups, and may be combined with acupuncture.
   Gua Sha
Involves "scrubbing" the skin with a guasha comb or edge of some other item to reduce Qi and Blood stagnation

   Scalp Acupuncture
