 Who is the Energy Medicine Woman?

| Dr. is a Research Psychologist whose specialties are Medical Psychology and Alternative Medicine Information. She is also a Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado, a Reiki Master, and a Certified Colorpuncturist. Additional training includes Hypnotherapy, Pranic Healing, Therapeutic Touch, QiGong, Axiatonal Alignment, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Energy Healing during Surgery. Her private practice in energetic medicine is located at the Colorado Institute for Growth and Healing in Denver, though she travels to see clients and give workshops and talks. She has published scholarly articles about the effect of lifestyle factors on rehabilitation from cardiac bypass surgery and is currently Research Advisor for an international study whose goal is to demonstrate the effectiveness of the ancient healing art of Reiki.
For more than ten years, Dr. Lucas has been helping people move toward better health and happiness through the use of a variety of techniques from the field of Alternative Medicine or what she prefers to call Traditional Medicine. As you may read later in this site, Alternative Medicine has a much longer history than does Modern Medicine and therefore would be more appropriate labled Traditional Medicine. |

Accelerated Healing in Surgical Settings
While surgery may be a healing experience on the physical plane, it remains paradoxical because of the invasive injury to some tissue. Accelerated Healing in Surgical Settings is about connecting with emotional, physical, and spiritual awareness of the person having surgery. Before, during, and after surgery, it includes relieving pain, reducing anxiety, and improving vital signs.

Reiki:
The traditional Reiki process is called the Usui System of Natural Spiritual Healing. The energy behind the process is an invisible but palpable life-force energy which infuses and permeates all living forms and which the Japanese call "Reiki". The ancients understood that this life-force energy flowed through the body supporting optimal development and fulfillment. The traditional Reiki process is a method for connecting this Universal Life Energy with the patient's body's innate powers of healing. Reiki energy fuels the body's homeostatic mechanisms revitalizing the cells as it balances the energies in the body.
Reiki is a hands-on and distant healing art which stands alone and which also supports all other healing modalities. It can be used for cancer patients and others when massage is contraindicated. As a healing modality, it fits perfectly into the new paradigm of health emerging in Western medicine, a paradigm that includes mind/body awareness and prevention techniques. It is a process of empowerment as well for it can be taught so that individuals can be more intimately involved with their own well being on all levels.
Reiki treatments facilitate the clearing of mental and emotional issues because the individual feels totally supported by Spirit, the energy, and the focus and loving support of the practitioner as a conduit for the energy. Treatments can be experienced in any setting because they do not involve disrobing or massage and Reiki energy is not blocked by casts, metal, or other materials.

Colorpuncture
Light therapies are gentle, non-invasive therapies. Colorpuncture is a system of light therapy based on the concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. It is a systematic method of using colored lights applied to acupuncture points in order to facilitate the healthy exchange of information between the energies of the body and mind. A basic premise of Colorpuncture is that the balanced flow of energy through the meridian system is necessary for one to experience good health. In addition to results like relief from pain and improved immune functioning, Colorpuncture treatments can unwind circular thought patterns that are limiting, clear energetic remnants of trauma (including prenatal trauma), and support the overall healing of the individual.

Axiatonal Alignment
Axiatonal Alignment is a powerful energetic technique which pulls dysfunction and stress out of the bodies (physical, energetic, emotional, spiritual) replacing it with deep relaxation and healing. An Axiatonal Alignment involves the practitioner's clearing the lines above and around the patient's body using his or her hand without touching the body. However, periodically during the alignment the practitioner does touch what are called "spin points" on the body in order to facilitate the clearing and energy flow. The axiatonal lines are described in the Keys of Enoch but were only known in the far East until the 1980's in this country. When cleared, the axiatonal lines allow our energies to return to perfect attunement with the Universe. Clients have described the feeling after a treatment as "angelic", the "most profound relaxation" they have felt, and as though they had "left their physical bodies behind for a while."

Medical QiGong
QiGong is a healing art which has been demonstrated to improve chronic conditions such as Hypertension and cardiovascular disease. It can help keep us young...and healthy. In China, there are what are called "QiGong hospitals" where only QiGong is practiced on patients and hundreds of articles have been published in the Chinese literature about the hundreds of medical applications for this ancient art. Dr. Lucas has trained with Master Dr. Yao who has been treating patients in the United States since 1993. Patients can experience both "internal" QiGong which they practice themselves for improved health and "external" QiGong which is the process of the QiGong practitioner helping release pathogenic Qi from the patient's body while replacing it with healthy or Wei Qi.

FengShuiScapes
The property on which we live, our yard, is a continuation of our indoor living space. It is a space with which we can do what we want; we can be as creative as we wish. FengShuiScapes is about setting up that space in order for you to live in harmony with the Earth. Energetic Breast Care
This course is about learning how to release negative emotional energies from our breast tissue. Since we are the energetic results of the meeting of our parents' energies and their parents before them (etc., etc.) it is possible that our bodies harbor the energetic memories of resentment or other emotions from our mothers, grandmothers, etc., in our breasts. Breast tissue is about nurturing energy not about resentment, envy, jealousy or other emotions which could lead to congestion in breast tissue. In this workshop, we "become" our breast tissue, find out what emotional energies it is holding, release it, and live with healthier, freer breasts. We also teach a way to physically nurture one's breasts and talk about touching our breasts with love rather than with the fear surrounding the model that we "examine our breasts looking for lumps". Additionally, this method leaves you with supple, less-lumpy breasts that feel great!
